The examination specifications for stage 6 Business Studies have been amended following revisions to the Stage 6 Business Studies Syllabus (2010) - see Official Notice 27/10.

The revised examination specifications are included in the Assessment and Reporting in Business Studies: Syllabus 2010 document.

Implementation of the amended examination specifications will commence from the 2012 HSC.

The amendments to the examination specifications are:

  • Section 1 is unchanged with 20 objective response questions
  • Section 2 is largely unchanged, however the examination specifications now indicate there will be four to six (rather than approximately five) short-answer questions, which may be in parts
  • Section 3 retains a business report, the question may be drawn from across topics in the HSC course
  • Section 4 provides choice of two extended-response questions, each drawn from a separate HSC topic.

The examination will still be three hours duration with five minutes reading time.

There are no changes to the internal assessment requirements.

The amended examination specifications are available in the revised booklet, Assessment and Reporting in Business Studies: Syllabus 2010
