The assessment requirements, including HSC examination specifications, for the amended Stage 6 Food Technology syllabus are in the Assessment and Reporting in Food Technology document on the Board’s website.

The following examination materials are now available at the same location:

  • Specimen HSC examination paper
  • Marking guidelines showing the criteria to be applied in awarding marks to each question in the specimen paper
  • Mapping grid showing how each question relates to the syllabus, outcomes and content, and to the performance bands.

From 2011, the HSC examination in Food Technology will consist of four sections, with approximately equal weighting of each of the HSC four core strands across the examination as a whole. Questions may require students to integrate knowledge, understanding and skills developed through studying the entire course, rather than focusing on a particular core strand.

Effective: 2011 HSC Course
