DesignTECH exhibition now on display

DesignTECH, an exhibition of outstanding major design projects from last year’s HSC Design and Technology students is now on display at the Powerhouse Museum. This annual event recognises excellence in design, innovation and creativity.

DesignTECH is on display until 13 May 2012 and features a selection of 21 outstanding works representing an extensive variety of designs from fashion and graphics to product, systems and packaging design. This year the exhibition also showcases a selection of three major textiles projects by students of the 2011 HSC Textiles and Design course.

During the exhibition seminars will be held for Year 12 and 11 students. The seminars focus on students’ major design projects for the Stage 6 Design and Technology curriculum. Bookings are essential and places are limited. To register or for more information visit the Board’s website.

From mid May, the DesignTECH exhibition will be on display in regional areas across NSW including:

  • Albury Regional Gallery: 16 May to 11 June 2012
  • Tamworth Regional Gallery: 15 June to 15 July 2012
  • Wallsend District Library: 18 July to 6 August 2012
  • Bunker Cartoon Gallery, Coffs Harbour: 8 August to 31 August 2012

In addition the annual Texstyle showcase of exemplary major projects by students of the 2011 HSC Textiles and Design course will be on display at The Muse, TAFE Sydney Institute, Ultimo Campus from Monday 27 February to Saturday 3 March 2012. Texstyle will also be displayed at Rosehill Gardens, Darling Harbour, Canberra and Newcastle. Visit the Board’s website for more information including dates.
