Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize 2011 recipients

Congratulations to Rebecca Wong from Baulkham Hills High School and Jeremy Kwok from Sydney Grammar School – recipients of the Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize for 2011.

Last week Rebecca and Jeremy were recognised at a ceremony held at NSW Parliament House hosted by The Hon Adrian Piccoli MP and the Board of Studies.

The Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize is awarded to a student, or students, who have overcome significant hardship to attain academic excellence in the Higher School Certificate.

Rebecca and Jeremy both achieved results in the highest possible band for at least two of their HSC courses despite facing many challenges. Beyond their academic achievements they each demonstrated determination and resilience.

The Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize was established by the Board of Studies NSW in memory of Brother John Taylor who was a teacher, principal and Executive Director of Catholic Education, as well as a long-standing and highly respected member of the Board of Studies.

For more information about the prize, visit the Board’s website.
