Moderating Stage 5 grades
The Board has developed materials to assist schools in awarding grades that are fair, reliable and consistent. These include:
- A guide to grade allocation which provides advice on strategies for moderating grades awarded with links to other resources.
- New historical grade analysis graphs and tables on Schools Online to assist in the grade allocation process. This new function is located in the Data Collection - Grades section of Schools Online.
- A PowerPoint on how to interpret and use the new historical grade analysis graphs and tables - a useful presentation aid for school leaders.
The final date for principals to confirm grades for Stage 5 courses this year is 30 November 2012. Schools are encouraged to engage with these resources as they finalise their Year 10 results.
