Discontinuation of HSC advice line and plastic folders in 2012

Principals are advised that a decision has been made to cease two products provided by the Board to HSC students:

HSC advice line

There has been a significant decline in demand for the HSC advice line. Analysis of usage back to 1995 reveals students prefer to access HSC related information online as opposed to a landline telephone service.

Students Online will continue to be a student’s main source for information about their HSC, including assessment rankings and HSC results. Students Online recorded over half a million visits in 2011. The Board will also continue providing year-round assistance on 13 11 12 for any HSC related questions.

HSC plastic folders

The Board will no longer be providing a plastic folder for students to display their HSC credentials. Feedback received indicates that many schools do not use them preferring to issue folders with their school insignia instead.

Ceasing the issue of plastic folders ensures the Board continues to allocate resources to HSC products and services of most value to students.
