Reminder about new syllabus implementation

2013 will provide a full year for teachers to become familiar with the new K–10 English, Mathematics, Science and History syllabuses incorporating the Australian curriculum, and for schools and school systems to continue plans for implementation from 2014.

In consultation with the school systems, the Board has published a schedule for implementation in 2014.

This schedule commences in 2014 with teaching of the new K–6 English syllabus, along with the option to commence teaching K–6 Mathematics and Science and Technology, and all four syllabuses for Years 7 and 9.

The Board has recently published a range of teaching support materials, including guides to the new syllabuses and advice on assessment and programming.

The four new syllabuses are available online at http://syllabus.bos.nsw.edu.au/.
