Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize 2012 recipients

Congratulations to Bethany-Kate Richmond from Grafton High School and Maia Jane Ryall from Trinity Catholic College, Lismore – recipients of the Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize for 2012.

On Thursday, 21 March 2013, Bethany-Kate and Maia were recognised at a ceremony held at NSW Parliament House hosted by The Hon. Victor Dominello, Minister for Citizenship and Communities and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, and the Board of Studies.

Now in its 20th year, the Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize is awarded to a student, or students, who have overcome significant hardship to attain academic excellence in the Higher School Certificate.

Bethany-Kate and Maia both studied at least one extension or advanced course and achieved results in the highest possible band for at least two of their HSC courses despite facing many challenges. Beyond their academic achievements they each demonstrated determination and resilience.

Bethany-Kate and Maia are a great inspiration and source of pride to their families, schools and communities.

The Brother John Taylor Memorial Prize was established by the Board of Studies in memory of Brother John Taylor who was a teacher, principal and Executive Director of Catholic Education, as well as a long-standing and highly respected member of the Board of Studies.

Proudly sponsored by The Co-op.
