Official Notice: NAPLAN disability adjustments

Who needs to read this notice:
Principals of primary and secondary schools
NAPLAN coordinators
NAPLAN test administrators/teachers of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9

 

Principals or NAPLAN coordinators should ensure that all completed parent/carer consent forms for exemptions, parent withdrawals and disability adjustments for the NAPLAN tests are lodged with the school as soon as possible.

The majority of disability adjustments can be organised at school level. The only adjustments that require prior approval from the Board of Studies are scribe use in the writing test or computer use. These applications should be lodged with the Board of Studies no later than Friday, 3 May (Week 1, Term 2).

Applications for computer use in the writing test due to a temporary injury will be accepted up until 14 May, the day scheduled for the writing test.

Information about disability adjustments can be found in the Handbook for Principals, pages 9–15 and 36–39.

Parent/carer consent forms and application forms for scribe or computer use can be downloaded from the Board’s website.
