Official Notice: HSC Languages Beginners and Continuers examinations - Listening components

BOSTES 16/14

Who needs to read this notice:
Principals
Curriculum co-ordinators
Year 12 advisers
HSC co-ordinators
Head Teachers
Year 12 teachers

Teachers and students of the HSC Languages Beginners and Continuers courses are advised that, from 2014, the questions will no longer be read out in full prior to the reading of each text in the listening sections of the examination.

For example, the instructional voice over will only read out the following:

“Question 1.”

“Refer to Question 1.”

This will then be followed by a pause during which students may read the question before the first reading of the text.

Teachers of Year 12 students in these courses are requested to bring this to the attention of their students.

Further information on the examinations in these courses can be found at http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/languages.html
