Higher School Certificate Examinations Tuesday 27 October 2015

Morning

Physics
Candidature: 9643 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:25 am Ends: 12:30 pm

The paper consists of two sections.
Section I Core (75 marks) consists of two parts: Part A – 20 multiple-choice questions (20 marks), answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet, and Part B – short-response questions (55 marks) answered in the spaces provided on the question paper. All questions in Section I are compulsory.
Section II Options (25 marks) consists of five questions, one for each option. Students answer the question based on the option they have studied. The question is answered in two separate writing booklets.

Afternoon

Classical Greek Extension
Candidature: 9 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
2:00 pm Ends: 4:00 pm

The paper consists of two sections:
Section I: Prescribed Text (30 marks)
In this section, students translate an extract/s into English, analyse language and/or contextual features, and write an extended response on the historical, social and/or literary context of the prescribed extract.
Section II: Non-prescribed Text (20 marks)
In this section, students translate an extract of Homeric Greek text into English and answer-short questions related to the text. Students choose to translate an additional extract of Homeric Greek text into English or to translate a passage of English prose into Classical Greek.

Construction
Candidature: 2821 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
1:55 am Ends: 4:00 pm

The paper consists of four sections.
Section I (15 marks) consists of 15 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (35 marks) consists of short-response questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one extended-response question answered in a separate writing booklet.
Section IV (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response, answered in a separate writing booklet.
All questions are compulsory.
