The marking guidelines for the Music Extension performance examinations have been reviewed.

To better conform with the course outcomes and the examination specifications, there will be separate marking guidelines for solo and ensemble performance examinations in Music Extension.The new marking guidelines will be published early in Term 1, 2016.

These updates will have no impact upon the teaching of Music Extension for the remainder of 2015.

Schools are reminded that, as in 2015, the 2016 HSC performance examinations for Music 2 and Music Extension should be separated. All the examinations for Music 2 should be completed before the Music Extension performance examinations commence, or vice versa. If this is not possible due to accompanist constraints, a student may present their Music Extension examination directly after their Music 2 examination.
