BOSTES has updated information, initially published in October 2014, about approved governance training providers on its School Registration (RANGS) website.

This information now includes guidelines in relation to an administrative process and requirements for approving providers to deliver governance training. BOSTES Administrative guidelines for approval of training providers and courses relating to proper governance of non-government schools are now published at http://rego.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/go/approved-providers. This website will be updated periodically to list BOSTES approved providers and courses for governance training.

The guidelines take effect with the publication of this Official Notice.

Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual and the Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual (‘the Manuals’) provide guidance for non-government schools about the registration requirement to have policies and procedures for proper governance in place with effect from 1 January 2014 (see Official Notice BOSTES 24/14).

The requirement for proper governance includes induction and ongoing professional learning from a BOSTES approved provider for ‘responsible persons’ from each non-government school.
