PDHPE Years 7-10 syllabus updated to include domestic violence

The NSW government and the broader community have taken a range of actions to address the issues associated with domestic violence. This includes education to recognise the signs of domestic violence and how to respond. From 2016, the BOSTES NSW PDHPE Years 7–10 syllabus will explicitly reference domestic violence, strengthening existing opportunities for students to learn about positive relationships and leading safe and healthy lives.

The updated PDHPE Years 7–10 syllabus will be published in early Term 3.

BOSTES recognises that schools may already have domestic violence prevention in their teaching programs. The syllabus updates will provide further opportunities for students to learn about domestic violence and the support services available.

Over Terms 3 and 4, BOSTES will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and develop additional resources for schools.
