Morning

English (Advanced)
Candidature: 26377 (as at 1 September 2016)
Paper 2 – Modules
Begins: 9:25 AM Ends: 11:30 AM
The paper consist of three sections.
Section I (20 marks) Module A: Comparative Study of Texts and Context
Section II (20 marks) Module B: Critical Study of Texts
Section III (20 marks) Module C: Representation and Text
Students must answer three questions, one from each section. All questions require an extended response and are of equal value.

English (ESL) Listening Paper
Candidature: 2419 (as at 1 September 2016)
Listening paper
Begins: 10:40 AM Ends: 11:10 AM
Students listen to a text recorded on CD.
The paper consists of a number of questions related to what they hear on the CD.
The questions may be a combination of multiple-choice questions and questions requiring both short and more sustained responses.

English (ESL) Paper 2
Candidature: 2419 (as at 1 September 2016)
Paper 2 – Modules
Begins: 9:25 AM Ends: 10:30 AM
The paper consists of two sections.
Students must answer one question from each section.
Section I (20 marks) Module A: Experience Through Language

Afternoon

Classical Greek Extension
Candidature: 12 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 4:00 PM
The paper consists of two sections:
Section I: Prescribed Text (30 marks)
In this section, students translate an extract/s into English, analyse language and/or contextual features, and write an extended response on the historical, sociaI and/or literary context of the prescribed extract.
Section II: Non-prescribed Text (20 marks)
In this section, students translate an extract of Homeric Greek text into English and answer short response questions related to the text. Students choose to translate an additional extract of Homeric Greek text into English or to translate a passage of English prose into Classical Greek.

Hospitality
Candidature: 6624 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 1:55 PM Ends: 4:00 PM
There are two separate examination papers, one for each of the following streams - Food and Beverage and Kitchen Operations and Cookery. Each paper consists of four sections.
Section I (15 marks) consists of 15 multiple-choice questions, answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet. Five questions are based on the mandatory focus areas.
Section II (35 marks) consists of short answer questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper. 15 marks are allocated to questions on the mandatory focus areas.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response question based on the stream focus area and is answered in a separate writing booklet.
Section IV (15 marks) consists of one extended response question based on the mandatory focus areas and will be the same for both papers. This question will be answered in a separate writing booklet.

Indonesian Continuers
Candidature: 81 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 5:00 PM
The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening and Responding (25 marks) In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in Indonesian. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English or Indonesian, as specified.
Section II – Reading and Responding (40 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students read two texts written in Indonesian and respond in English to short-answer questions phrased in English.
In Part B, the question is based on a short text written in Indonesian. Students respond in Indonesian to an extended-response question which is phrased in English.
Section III – Writing in Indonesian (15 marks)
There are two writing tasks. For the second writing task, students have a choice of two extended-response alternatives.
