University of the Arts London in Sydney to recruit students, meet BOSTES & visit ARTEXPRESS

University of the Arts London (UAL), the largest arts university in Europe and leading arts and fashion institutes in the world, met with over 20 students in Sydney last week.

UAL also visited Wenona School and Loreto Kirribilli, and will attend upcoming career evenings at MLC, Ascham School and Kambala.

Congratulations to the 14 students who received an offer to study at UAL starting in September 2016 this year.

The UAL representatives also met with the President of BOSTES Tom Alegounarias and the BOSTES Inspector for Creative Arts Rosemary Gorman, during their visit.

The meeting was to build their understanding about the quality and standard of NSW schools and students, and the internationally regarded HSC, particularly in our creative arts and technology courses.

They also visited the ARTEXPRESS exhibition at Western Sydney University (WSU) to see the high standard of work created by HSC Visual Arts students.

Alumni from UAL include:

  • Fashion designers: Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, John Galliano, Jimmy Choo
  • Actors: Ralph Fiennes, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Fassbender
  • Art/Design: Anish Kapoor (Sculpture), Terence Conran (Design). Steve McQueen (Turner Prize winner and Oscar winning director).
