PDHPE: Implementing amended content relating to Domestic Violence

Amendments to the Year 7-10 Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) syllabus to make content relating to domestic violence explicit, should now be incorporated into 2016 teaching and learning programs.

The PDHPE teacher toolkit: Prevention of domestic violence has been developed to assist in the implementation of the amended content. Key features of the domestic violence teacher toolkit include:

  • Signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Suggested resources
  • Support available
  • Sample activities
  • Research and references

To further assist teachers in planning the integration and delivery of the amended content, the NSW Association of Independent Schools is running a PDHPE Webinar: Respectful Relationships and Domestic Violence on Tuesday 1 March from 4.00 - 6.00pm.
