Applications can be submitted from 12 November 2012 for disability provisions for the 2013 HSC examinations. A student must be entered for the HSC before an application for disability provisions can be commenced through Schools Online.

Student Support Services will respond promptly to applications lodged early in Year 12. This will allow schools to approve provisions for students’ assessment tasks with confidence about the provisions approved for the HSC examinations.

For students with a reading disability, the range of accepted diagnostic tests has been extended to include the York Assessment of Reading for Comprehension - Australian Edition.

The Board of Studies has developed a pamphlet on disability provisions to assist parents in understanding the support available to their children. The pamphlet is available in English and the community languages of Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Hindi, Spanish and Vietnamese. Schools are encouraged to print and distribute these pamphlets to interested parents.
