Higher School Certificate Examinations Monday 2 November 2015

Morning

History Extension
Candidature: 1954 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:25 am Ends: 11:30 am

The paper consists of two sections.
Section I (25 marks) consists of one extended-response question, which uses an unseen passage as a stimulus for exploration of issues of historiography.
Section II (25 marks) consists of one extended-response question, which asks candidates to analyse a historiographical issue with reference to a case study.
Both sections are compulsory and are of equal value.

Italian Extension
Candidature: 59 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:30 am Ends: 11:30 am

The paper consists of two sections.
Section I – Response to prescribed text (25 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students answer a number of short-answer questions based on a short extract from the prescribed text. In Part B, the question relates to another extract from the prescribed text. Students respond in Italian to an extended-response question which is phrased in both English and Italian.
Section II – Writing in Italian (15 marks)
Students have a choice of two extended-response questions related to the prescribed issues and respond in Italian.

Afternoon

Design and Technology
Candidature: 3194 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
1:55 pm Ends: 3:30 pm

The paper consists of three sections.
Section I (10 marks) consists of 10 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (15 marks) consists of short-answer questions answered on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one extended response question. This question is answered in a separate writing booklet.
