BOSTES Literacy and Numeracy tests now open and staying open

The BOSTES Literacy and Numeracy tests for students planning to leave school before completing the HSC are now open.

A short demonstration test for students is also available to help them become familiar with the look and feel of the tests.

The tests can be taken between 9am and 4pm on school days to make it easier for schools to schedule them as close as possible to a student’s leaving date. They focus on the literacy and numeracy skills required by school leavers for employment and further education.

The tests are now adaptive, which means students receive questions aimed at their level of ability based on their responses.

The results are displayed to students immediately when they complete a test, and a test report – to show employers – is available the next day via their Students Online account. The results are also available to teachers immediately, and all test reports are available the next day via Schools Online.

Information on how to enrol for the tests can be found in Schools Online > Online Testing.
