2015 NAPLAN Writing tests for NSW students can now be viewed via Schools Online.

To login:

• secondary and central schools should use their current Schools Online username and password
• primary and other schools that have not previously accessed Schools Online, should use their Participation and Registration (PAR) username and password.

The Writing tests can be downloaded to your school network. Schools are permitted to:

• print and/or save the images for assessment and reporting purposes
• use the images for professional development activities
• provide copies to staff as appropriate
• use them to support whole school literacy programming and planning.

Providing a copy of a student’s Writing test to parents/carers is at the principal's discretion, but prior consideration should be given to whether it contains sensitive or confidential information.

Professional development of teachers

It is anticipated that the tests may assist in the professional development of teachers by providing a greater understanding of the NAPLAN persuasive writing marking rubric, especially when used in conjunction with the marking guide and individual student results. The marking guide contains the 10 common criteria, which each test has been marked against.
