Consultation on the Draft Aboriginal Languages Stage 6 Content Endorsed Course Syllabus

Consultation on the Draft Aboriginal Languages Stage 6 Content Endorsed Course (CEC) Syllabus has begun. BOSTES invites feedback from teachers, community members and other stakeholders via online survey, written submission or consultation meeting.

The study of a CEC contributes to the 12 preliminary units and 10 HSC units required for the award of the HSC. The Aboriginal Languages Stage 6 CEC will be available as a 1 or 2 unit course and as a Preliminary and/or HSC course. Assessment of this course is school based. CECs do not have an external examination and do not contribute to the calculation of an ATAR.

Consultation ends on Friday 11 September. Feedback from stakeholders will be incorporated into a consultation report, which will be published on the BOSTES website in December 2015.

It is anticipated that the final Aboriginal Languages Stage 6 CEC Syllabus will be published on the BOSTES website for implementation from 2016.

Further information about the consultation, including the details of public meetings, is available on the BOSTES website.
