Morning

Indonesian Extension
Candidature: 15 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 9:30 AM Ends: 11:30 AM
The paper consists of two sections.
Section I – Response to prescribed text (25 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students answer a number of short-answer questions based on a short extract from the prescribed text. In Part B, the question relates to another extract from the prescribed text. Students respond in Indonesian to an extended-response question which is phrased in both English and Indonesian.
Section II – Writing in Indonesian (15 marks)
Students have a choice of two extended- response questions related to the prescribed issues and respond in Indonesian.

Senior Science
Candidature: 6908 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 9:25 AM Ends: 12:30 PM
The paper consists of two sections.
Section I Core (75 marks) consists of two parts: Part A – 20 multiple-choice questions (20 marks), answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet, and Part B – short-response questions (55 marks) answered in the spaces provided on the question booklet.
All questions in Section I are compulsory.
Section II Options (25 marks) consists of five questions, one for each option.
Students answer the question based on the option they have studied.

Afternoon

German Beginners
Candidature: 117 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 4:40 PM
The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening (30 marks)
In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in German. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English.
Section II – Reading (30 marks)
In this section, students read texts in German and answer questions phrased in English, for responses in English.
Section III – Writing in German (20 marks)
This section consists of two parts. Part A is made up of two questions phrased in English, requiring responses in German. Part B consists of two questions phrased in English and German, requiring responses in German. Students answer one question.

German Continuers
Candidature: 250 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 5:00 PM
The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening and Responding (25 marks) In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in German. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English or German, as specified.
Section II – Reading and Responding (40 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students read two texts written in German and respond in English to short-answer questions phrased in English. In Part B, the question is based on a short text written in German. Students respond in German to an extended-response question which is phrased in English.
Section III – Writing in German (15 marks)
There are two writing tasks. For the second writing task, students have a choice of two extended-response alternatives.

Italian Continuers

The paper consists of three sections.
Section I – Listening and Responding (20 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A (10 marks), students respond to questions based on one text in Korean. Questions are phrased in English and Korean for responses in English. In Part B (10 marks), students hear two texts in Korean. The question will be based on both texts and will be phrased in Korean and English for a response in Korean.
Section II – Reading and Responding (55 marks)
This section has two parts. In Part A, students respond to one or more prescribed texts in either English or Korean. In Part B, students exchange information in response to an unseen text in Korean. The question is phrased in Korean and English for a response in Korean.
Section III – Writing in Korean (25 marks)
Students write an original text in Korean. There is a choice of two tasks. Questions are phrased in Korean and English.

Section II (35 marks) consists of short response questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one extended response question answered in a separate writing booklet.
Section IV (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response, answered in a separate writing booklet.
All questions are compulsory.

Heritage Korean
Candidature: 54 (as at 1 September 2016)
Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 4:40 PM
The paper consists of two sections.
Section 1 - Responding to texts (50 marks)
In this section, students respond to questions based on one or two stimulus texts which may be written or recorded. Questions may integrate the skills of listening, reading and writing. Questions are phrased in Korean and English, for responses in English or Korean, as specified.
Section 2 - Creating texts in Korean (25 marks)
In this section, students write an evaluative or persuasive or reflective text in Korean. Students answer one question from a choice of two. The questions will be phrased in Korean and English, for responses in Korean. Students are expected to write approximately 625 ja.

Information and Digital Technology (VET)
Candidature: 886 (as at 1 September 2016)
(VET)
Begins: 1:55 PM Ends: 4:00 PM
There are three separate examination papers, one for each of the following streams - Web and Software Applications, Networking and Hardware and Digital Animation. Each paper consists of four sections.
Section I (20 marks) consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (30 marks) consists of short answer questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response question answered in a separate writing booklet.
