Japanese delegation visits BOSTES

A delegation of Japanese educators visited BOSTES recently as part of a fact-finding mission about the Australian education system.

The group, from the National Centre for Teachers’ Development in Japan, met senior BOSTES representatives to learn more about the role of BOSTES. They discussed in detail how it engages stakeholders in curriculum development, the accreditation of teachers, professional development and the school registration process in NSW.

Paul Hewitt, BOSTES Executive Director of Curriculum, Teaching and Assessment (back row, third from right) said the meeting highlighted the inclusive way BOSTES strives to work.

“BOSTES processes are designed to include all partners in the education community, from sectors, schools and teachers to parents and students, as well as academic, the universities who are training the teachers of tomorrow, and professional development providers. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that change is a collaborative process and meets the needs of all stakeholders,” he said.
