Update to the Stage 6 Entertainment Industry Curriculum Framework Syllabus

BOSTES 18/16

TVET coordinators
Entertainment Industry teachers

Following the release on 15 January 2016 of version 2 of the CUA Creative Arts and Culture Training Package (note new title), BOSTES will update the Stage 6 Entertainment Industry Curriculum Framework syllabus.

The current Stage 6 Entertainment Industry Curriculum Framework (approved 2014) is based on the now-superseded CUA Live Performance and Entertainment Training Package (referred to as the ‘old’ syllabus).

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and their students continuing study in the framework in 2016 will remain in courses from the ‘old’ syllabus. The 2016 HSC examination will be based on this syllabus.

RTOs and their students commencing study in the framework in 2016 have the option of undertaking courses from the ‘old’ syllabus (based on CUA) or the updated syllabus (based on CUAv2). For HSC course and credit purposes this decision has to be made early Term 1 this year and will remain final throughout 2016.

Schools and colleges should consult with their school system and/or RTO regarding delivery of courses for their students commencing study in 2016.

For those choosing to commence study in this framework through the ‘old’ syllabus in 2016 and continuing study into 2017, transition to the updated syllabus is to occur at the beginning of Term 4 2016.

The 2017 HSC examination will be based on the updated syllabus.

The updated syllabus will be available on the BOSTES website by the end of Term 1.
