Advice to Non-Government Schools regarding Annual School Reports for 2015
BOSTES 21/16
Who needs to read this notice:
Principals of non-government schools
Representatives of registration systems
All non-government schools are required to produce and publicly disclose a 2015 Annual School Report by Thursday 30 June 2016.
Section 3.10.1 of the Registered and Accredited Individual Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual and section 5.10.1 of the Registration Systems and Member Non-government Schools (NSW) Manual detail the annual reporting requirement for individual and systemic non-government schools respectively.
In addition, non-government schools are also required to provide the report to BOSTES by Thursday 30 June 2016.
The submission process is via the BOSTES’ registration website (RANGS Online), which is currently available to accept school annual reports.
To ensure that all required reporting measures are included in the annual report, non-government schools are reminded to refer to the manuals. Schools may wish to note that the BOSTES review of annual reports submitted in 2015 for the 2014 school year found the following reporting measures were most commonly in need of attention:
- identifying trends in student performance over time in relation to the HSC
- including attendance figures by year level and for the whole school
- including the full text of the school’s enrolment policy, identifying all prerequisites for continuing enrolment
- providing summaries of the school’s student welfare, anti-bullying and complaints and grievance policies.
Schools are advised to check that these and all other required reporting measures have been included before finalising their annual school report for 2015.
If you require assistance in accessing RANGS Online with the school’s user ID or password, or need to apply for an online account, please call Senior Registration Officer George Kelen on (02) 9367 8280.
