BOSTES donates marking centre furniture to Fiji for Cyclone Winston rebuilding

Furniture previously used in School Certificate and HSC marking centres has been donated to Fiji to assist the relief effort following the devastation wreaked by Cyclone Winston.

Over 350,000 people have been affected by the tropical cyclone which damaged or destroyed many buildings, homes and schools.

The excess BOSTES marking furniture includes thousands of marking desks and chairs no longer required since the end of the School Certificate and the expansion of onscreen marking (where markers, after an initial briefing at a central venue, mark from home).

The furnitute will be shipped to Fiji within the next 6 weeks.

Mr Yogesh Punja, Fijian High Commissioner and Mrs Losana Ravuso, Fijian Consul General, recently visited the BOSTES office to personally thank BOSTES for the donation to the Fijian Government.

BOSTES was pleased to be in a position to help, in some small way, the task of rebuilding schools in Fiji.

If you or your school would like to help with the Cyclone Winston relief effort, please go to www.fijihighcom.com or phone the Fiji High Commission in Canberra on 02 6260 5115.
