Online resources help SC students

School Certificate students are making the most of online resources in preparation for the 2010 tests with more than 50,000 practice tests completed online yesterday.

This year 89,903 students will sit School Certificate tests in English-literacy, Science, Mathematics, Australian History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Computing Skills. For test dates and times view the 2010 School Certificate Test Timetable.

The Board’s website offers a range of resources to help students prepare for the School Certificate tests including past test papers and online multiple choice quizzes.

The online multiple choice self-testing service has been heavily used in classrooms and by students at home in recent days. Last year 118,522 online multiple choice practice tests were completed by students on the Sunday night before the first School Certificate test. The total is expected to be higher this year.

Students can test themselves on a selection of multiple choice questions from past School Certificate tests in English-literacy, Science, Mathematics, Australian History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Computing Skills. You can nominate the number of questions and receive a random selection from past tests. The questions are automatically marked and the correct answers are provided.

Multiple choice questions form only a part of the School Certificate tests so students are encouraged to also look at past test papers to become familiar with the range of question types they will see in the tests.
