The Tourism and Events Curriculum Framework has been updated to the latest version of the Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package (SIT07v2.2).

Schools and colleges should ensure that RTOs delivering courses from the Tourism and Events Curriculum Framework to their students amend their teaching programs to reflect the changes.

The key changes to the Tourism and Events syllabus include:

• a minor update to the content of the compulsory unit of competency SITXOHS001B Follow health, safety and security procedures and 12 HSC elective units
• the deletion of two HSC elective units from the Framework (BSBEBUS302A Use and maintain electronic mail system and TDTE597B Carry out basic workplace calculations)
• changes to the qualification rules for SIT30107 Certificate III in Tourism, SIT30207 Certificate III in Tourism (Retail Travel Sales), SIT30307 Certificate III in Tourism (Tour Wholesaling) and SIT30407 Certificate III in Tourism (Visitor Information Services).

The other changes are minor.
