BOS TV - the 2011 videoconference schedule coming soon

The Board’s 2011 videoconference schedule will soon be available on Schools Online.

Topics will include:

· Australian curriculum in NSW updates (primary and secondary)

· Moderation of HSC assessment marks

· Developing HSC assessment policies

· Running subject selection sessions

· Managing ‘N’ determinations

· Disability provisions (formerly special examination provisions)

Videoconferencing is an excellent way for schools to book a whole group of staff to hear important Board advice from the source.

In 2010, nearly 200 schools took advantage of this free service, hearing from BOSLOs and other Board assessment and curriculum specialists. Questions may be sent by text or email during the videoconference for answers live in each session and more detailed responses can be followed up after the session.

Most NSW schools with videoconference facilities will find they can join the Board’s sessions; the most popular systems used in 2010 were Tandberg and Polycom. Instructions are sent with each registration confirmation.

If you have questions about how your school can join a videoconference, or wish to suggest a topic for 2011, please email information@bos.nsw.edu.au
