Morning

 

Visual Arts

Candidature: 9170 (as at 1 September 2014)

Art Criticism and Art History

Begins: 9:25 AM Ends: 11:00 AM

The paper consists of two sections.

Section I (25 marks)
This section consists of three short-answer questions, with one question worth at least 10 marks. All questions are compulsory.

Section II (25 marks)
This section consists of six questions. Each question requires an extended-response. Students attempt one question.

 

Afternoon

 

Chinese Beginners

Candidature: 54 (as at 1 September 2014)

Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 4:40 PM

The paper consists of three sections.

Section I Listening (30 marks)
In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in Chinese. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English.

Section II Reading (30 marks)
In this section, students read texts in Chinese and answer questions phrased in English for responses in English.

Section III Writing in Chinese (20 marks)
This section consists of two parts.
Part A is made up of two questions phrased in English, requiring responses in Chinese.
Part B consists of two questions phrased in English and Chinese, requiring responses in Chinese.
Students answer one question.


Chinese Continuers

Candidature: 84 (as at 1 September 2014)

Begins: 2:00 PM Ends: 5:00 PM

The paper consists of three sections.

Section I Listening and Responding (25 marks)
In this section, students listen and respond to recorded texts in Chinese. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English or Chinese, as specified.

Section II Reading and Responding (40 marks)
This section has two parts.
In Part A, students read two texts written in Chinese and respond in English to short-answer questions phrased in English.
In Part B, the question is based on a short text written in Chinese. Students respond in Chinese to an extended-response question which is phrased in English.

Section III Writing in Chinese (15 marks)
There are two writing tasks. For the second writing task, students have a choice of two extended-response alternatives.

 

Food Technology

Candidature: 3655 (as at 1 September 2014)

Begins: 1:55 PM Ends: 5:00 PM

The paper consists of four sections.

Section I (20 marks) consists of 20 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.

Section II (50 marks) consists of approximately 6 short-answer questions answered on the question paper.

Section III (15 marks) consists of one structured extended-response question answered in a writing booklet.

Section IV (15 marks) consists of one extended-response question answered in a writing booklet.

All questions in the paper are compulsory.
