Professional Development Workshops

BOSTES will present a range of professional development workshops in Term 3, 2014. Completion of a workshop will contribute nominated hours towards registered professional development for teacher accreditation depending on the duration of the workshop.

Term 3 workshops include:

HSC Best Practice Workshop

This workshop is designed for school executives who guide professional learning and the management of the Higher School Certificate in their schools. It will deliver information on best practice in understanding HSC processes, the key elements of a HSC school policy and the implementation and design of assessment tasks.

K - 6 Consistency of Teacher Judgement

This workshop highlights the concepts and issues underlying standards based assessment. It focuses on consistency of teacher judgement and the allocation of grades using the Common Grade Scale.

7 - 11 Consistency of Teacher Judgement

This workshop highlights the concepts and issues underlying standards based assessment. It focuses on consistency of teacher judgement and the allocation of grades using the Common Grade Scale, Course Performance Descriptors and the Common Grade Scale for Preliminary courses.

BOSTES Information Workshop

This workshop is for teachers implementing processes for assessing and credentialing students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

Topics include: curriculum requirements for the RoSA, Preliminary and HSC courses, ATAR, Grading and Assessment including HSC Moderations, ‘N’ Determinations, Disability Provisions, Illness/Misadventure and Students with Special Education Needs.
