BOSTES Literacy and Numeracy tests - enrolments now open

Enrolments for the BOSTES Literacy and Numeracy tests are now open. The tests, first offered in 2012, are for students planning to leave school before completing the HSC. They focus on the literacy and numeracy skills required by school leavers for employment and further education.

A number of changes have been made this year to improve the test experience for students and teachers:

  • The tests are available for students between 9am and 4pm on any school day from Thursday 21 May. This makes it easier for schools to schedule tests as close as possible to the date a student is leaving school
  • The tests are now adaptive, which means students receive questions aimed at their level of ability based on their responses
  • The results are displayed immediately to students when they complete a test, and a test report – to show employers – is available the next day via their Students Online account
  • The results are also immediately available to teachers, and all test reports are available the next day via Schools Online.

Information on how to enrol for the tests can be found in Schools Online > Online Testing.
