CCAFL Continuers Languages HSC exam details for Tuesday 20 October 2009

Course: CCAFL languages - Continuers Armenian (28), Croatian (17), Dutch,(5), Filipino (37), Hindi (23), Hungarian (4), Khmer (16), Macedonian (27), Maltese (6), Polish (35), Portuguese (19) Serbian (32), Swedish (6), Tamil (27), Turkish (56), Ukrainian (3) Date: Tuesday October 20, 2009, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM CCAFL (Collaborative Curriculum and Assessment Framework for Languages) is a national framework for the development of languages syllabuses and the setting and marking of languages examinations. Under the CCAFL agreement, various state and territory curriculum, assessment and certification authorities develop examinations in a wide range of small candidature community languages. Because these examinations are used nationally, they are scheduled at a time suitable to all participating states. Each Continuers Language examination has three papers, all of which are compulsory. Paper 1 (30 marks) This paper consists of two parts. In Part A (20 marks) students listen to a number of listening texts and respond to questions in English. In Part B (10 marks) students listen to two listening texts and respond to questions in the target language. Paper 2 (30 marks) This paper consists of two parts. In Part A (20 marks) students respond in English to a number of question on two written texts, and in Part B (10 marks) students answer one question in the target language on a short written text by responding to the information, ideas and/or opinions in the text. Paper 3 (15 marks) Students are required to write a text in the target language. There are two to four questions, of which students must choose one.
