New medal for Premier's Awards for All-round Excellence in the HSC

New medals have been struck for the 2008 winners of the Premier's Awards for All-round Excellence in the NSW Higher School Certificate. The silver medals will be sent to nearly 1200 students this week, in recognition of their outstanding achievement in last year's HSC. The medals bear the NSW Government crest on the obverse (pictured below) and the Board of Studies NSW logo on the reverse, above a semi-circular blank which may be engraved later with the student's preferred name. Premier's award medal for all-round excellence All-rounders are students who have attained marks of 90 or above in at least 10 units - that is, Band 6 or E4. The full list of 2008 All-rounders was published on the Board's website in December. The All-rounders also received a certificate and letter of congratulations from the Premier of NSW, Nathan Rees.
