Exemplary performances and works by 2011 Higher School Certificate students will feature in showcases and exhibitions to be held from Saturday February 4.

Standby for:

• ARTEXPRESS opening at the Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in southern Sydney on February 11 before its tour of 11 venues throughout New South Wales
• Callback, dance performances, choreography and workshops, at the Seymour Centre on February 9-10
• DesignTECH, an exhibition of major projects by HSC design and technology students at the Powerhouse Museum, from February 18. Seminars begin on February 27
• Encore, a program of outstanding music performances and compositions at the Sydney Opera House on March 19. School booking forms will be online from January 30
• OnSTAGE, drama performances and projects including costume and set design on show, at the Seymour Centre from February 4. Writers OnSTAGE/OnSCREEN readings and screenings are on February 8-10.
• TEXSTYLE, a showcase of textile and design major projects at TAFE NSW Sydney Institute, Ultimo from February 27.

The HSC showcases provide an invaluable opportunity for up-and-coming students to see the standards to which they can aspire. As well they enable the wider community to experience the freshness, professionalism and talent of some of the state’s highest achievers.
