Preparing for 2013: Checklist for Schools

With the end of the school year approaching, the checklist below is provided for schools to consider in preparation for 2013.

Primary and secondary schools:

  • All schools will continue to use the existing NSW K-10 syllabuses for 2013. Implementation of the new syllabuses will begin in a phased approach from 2014 so teachers should familiarise themselves with the syllabuses and support materials throughout 2013.
  • Ensure that Official Notices have been distributed to relevant staff. Information in the Official Notices is the Board’s official advice to schools about the decisions it has made – some of which affect 2013 operations.

Secondary schools:

  • Distribute a copy of the 2013 HSC Rules and Procedures guide to all 2013 HSC students.
  • Ensure students have completed the Board’s HSC: All My Own Work program. This program is designed to help HSC students follow the principles and practices of good scholarship. Each student must complete this program before 2013 HSC or Preliminary student course entries can be submitted via Schools Online. Preliminary entries will open in Term 1, 2013.
  • Check the HSC syllabus page for any new or amended HSC syllabuses due to be implemented from 2013.
  • Online applications for disability provisions for the 2013 HSC examinations opened on 12 November 2012. Students must be entered for the HSC before an application for provisions can be lodged.

Non-government schools:
