New webpage for the latest RoSA news

The Board of Studies NSW has launched a new webpage to provide easy access to the latest information on the development of the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) for teachers, parents, students and employers.

Visitors to the Board’s website can find a quick link on the home page taking them to a new RoSA landing page. From there, visitors can guide themselves to RoSA information of particular relevance to teachers and principals, parents and employers, or students.

These pages will continue to be updated as plans are finalised for the implementation of the RoSA. Some of the key information already available includes:

  • In early Term 3, grade allocation patterns and grade ranges will be provided to schools through Schools Online to support the allocation of Year 10 grades in 2012;
  • Schools will need to submit grades for Year 10 students to the Board of Studies by 30 November this year;
  • Work is underway to support teachers in the allocation of grades to Year 11 students from 2013 onward;
  • A recent Official Notice issued by the Board provides clarity on a range of issues related to the RoSA including eligibility; managing N determinations and Life Skills courses.

The Board Bulletin will also continue to provide regular updates on RoSA projects.

Users of the Board of Studies website are also reminded that in most cases, where reference is made to the ‘School Certificate’, it should be taken as read that information continues to be relevant to the new Record of School Achievement. The website is being updated to remove reference to the School Certificate, where appropriate, and to incorporate new information on the RoSA.

Contact your local Board of Studies Liaison Officer if you have any questions about adapting existing information for the new credential.
