Professional development workshops

The Board of Studies will present a range of professional development workshops in Term 3, 2012. These workshops are conducted by the Board of Studies Liaison Unit and are designed to support staff in schools with Board of Studies processes and procedures.

These workshops are registered professional development under the terms of the NSW Institute of Teachers Continuing Professional Development policy. For teachers accredited at Professional Competence, completion of this program will contribute nominated hours towards Institute registered professional development depending on the duration of the workshop.

Board of Studies Grading Workshops

This workshop is designed to assist teachers in the professional judgement process of allocating grades using the Common Grade Scale and the Course Performance Descriptors. After participating in this workshop, teachers will have a better understanding of the Board’s ARC website and be able to use the work samples on ARC to ensure consistency in judgement when allocating grades to students. This process is the foundation for reporting of student achievement, in particular for the RoSA credential. Completing this course will be acknowledged with five hours of accreditation. This program will address the following Professional Teaching Standard: 3.2.5, 3.2.6, 3.2.9, 3.2.10, and 7.2.4
