Japanese delegation - National Council of Prefectural Boards of Education
On 19 September 2013 the Board of Studies NSW hosted a delegation from Japan’s National Council of Prefectural Boards of Education.
The delegation was led by Mr Tsutomu Kimura, Chairperson, National Council of Prefectural Boards of Education and Chairperson, Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education. The group included chairpersons and senior representatives from the Fukushima, Shizuoka, Kagawa and Nara Prefectural Boards of Education.
This is the fourth overseas trip that the Council has made, following visits to the UK, Finland and Singapore.
Board of Studies NSW President, Tom Alegounarias, welcomed the delegation before a series of presentations by Board officers focusing on the role of the Board in the NSW education context, and curriculum and syllabus development. The delegation was particularly impressed with the eSyllabus and Program Builder developed by the Board.
