Outstanding primary school writers win Board of Studies awards
On 14 November Board of Studies Chief Executive Carol Taylor presented awards to Gold category winners of the Board’s annual primary school writing competition - WriteOn.
WriteOn encourages students to develop their creative writing skills by writing a short piece of up to 500 words based on a photograph – this year a dog with a red scarf
A total of 721 entries were received and a panel of primary school teachers selected 21 Gold, 48 Silver and 18 Bronze winners
The panel gives awards to winners in each stage - Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6.
WriteOn recognises the amazing creativity of our younger students and WriteOn is a great initiative to develop a life-long love of writing.
Winning entries are also published in an anthology which is a great resource for teachers and students to see quality writing at each stage of a student’s development.
