Mathematics General Syllabus - Frequently Asked Questions
The Mathematics General Stage 6 Syllabus was released in May 2012 for implementation with Year 11 from 2013 and with Year 12 from 2014 (see Official Notice BOS 08/12).
Following Board Bulletin article Reminder about new Mathematics General Syllabus implementation, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) have been developed on:
- meeting the needs of different students in the Preliminary Mathematics General course, and assessing and grading students in the course
- the purpose and the HSC and ATAR-eligibility implications of the HSC Mathematics General 1 course (CEC)
- materials available to support the teaching and learning of the Mathematics General Syllabus
- calculators approved for use in the Mathematics General 2 HSC examination from 2014.
