NAPLAN - religious and cultural events
The Board of Studies is aware that the NAPLAN test dates of 14 to 16 May 2013 coincide with the Jewish holy period known as Shavuot.
A number of Jewish schools that will be closed during the test period have been granted permission to administer the tests in the following week.
The Board requests that schools ensure they make alternative arrangements for the NAPLAN tests for Jewish students who wish to observe the Shavuot holy days. If alternative dates and times for these students cannot be arranged within the week ending Friday, 17 May, schools should contact the Board to request approval for these students to sit for one or more of the tests early in the following week.
