Welcome primary schools

A special welcome to our new primary school subscribers. The Board Bulletin is the Board’s weekly e-newsletter and contains valuable information for schools. Articles feature curriculum related issues across the K–12 syllabuses, and initiatives developed by the Board to support teachers in their work.

It is more important than ever that the Board communicates with primary schools now that the Board is the NSW Test Administration Authority (TAA) for NAPLAN. The Board Bulletin will be pivotal in communicating NAPLAN information, including dates and required actions by schools.

Other important primary school related issues and initiatives that will be covered in future editions of Board Bulletin include:

  • the Australian curriculum in NSW and new NSW K–10 syllabuses
  • the availability of new products, resources or support materials, such as the Program Builder and Stage 3 Safety Town website, which will both be released soon
  • awards, competitions or prizes, such as The Sydney Morning Herald Youngest Writer: WriteOn competition for primary school students
  • key reminders or advice
  • calls for expressions of interest, feedback or consultation.

To help primary schools have easy access to the Board Bulletin, the Board has added known administration contacts to the subscription list. However, primary school principals are encouraged to subscribe so the Bulletin can be sent directly.

Subscribe by going to the Board’s website at http://news.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/subscribe.cfm.

Should you, once you have subscribed, have any feedback on the Board Bulletin or our communications more generally, please email the Board’s communication team at information@bos.nsw.edu.au.
