Higher School Certificate Examinations Monday 26 October 2015

Morning

Modern History
Candidature: 11225 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
9:25 am Ends: 12:30 pm

The paper consists of four sections.
Section I is compulsory. Students attempt one question from each of Sections II, III and IV. All sections are of equal value.
Section I Core (25 marks)
There are source-based short answer and multiple-choice questions to the value of 15 marks. There is also a source-based question to the value of 10 marks. Answers are written in the spaces provided in the question booklet.
Section II National Studies (25 marks)
There are nine extended response questions, one for each National Study. Each question offers an internal choice of two. Students attempt one.
Section III Personalities in the Twentieth Century (25 marks)
There is one question in two parts which students answer in relation to their chosen personality.
Section IV International Studies in Peace and Conflict (25 marks)
There are seven extended response questions, one for each International Study in Peace and Conflict. Each question offers an internal choice of two. Students attempt one.

Afternoon

Entertainment Industry
Candidature: 1117 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
1:55 pm Ends: 4:00 pm

The paper consists of four sections.
Section I (15 marks) consists of 15 multiple-choice questions answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (35 marks) consists of short-response questions answered in the spaces provided on the question paper.
Section III (15 marks) consists of one extended-response question answered in a separate writing booklet.
Section IV (15 marks) consists of one structured extended response answered in a separate writing booklet.
All questions are compulsory.

Mathematics Extension 1
Candidature: 9121 (as at 1 September 2015)
Begins:
1:55 pm Ends: 4:00 pm

The paper consists of two sections.
Section I (10 marks) consists of multiple-choice questions, answered on a separate machine-scored answer sheet.
Section II (60 marks) consists of four questions each worth 15 marks. Each question is made up of several short-answer parts. These questions are answered in separate writing booklets.
All questions are compulsory.
