Course: Indonesian Background Speakers Date: Wednesday October 21, 2009, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Candidature: 84 (as at 1 September 2009) The paper consists of three sections: Section I - Listening and Responding (20 marks) This section has two parts. In Part A (10 marks), students respond to questions based on one text in Indonesian. Questions are phrased in English for responses in English. In Part B (10 marks), students hear two texts in Indonesian. The question will be based on both texts and will be phrased in Indonesian and English for a response in Indonesian. Section II - Reading and Responding (55 marks) This section has two parts. In Part A, students respond to one or more prescribed texts in either English or Indonesian. In Part B, students exchange information in response to an unseen text in Indonesian. The question is phrased in Indonesian for a response in Indonesian. Section III - Writing in Indonesian (25 marks) Students write an original text in Indonesian. There is a choice of three tasks. Questions are phrased in Indonesian.
