Course: Modern History Date: Tuesday November 3, 2009, 9:25 AM - 12:30 PM Candidature: 9819 (as at 1 September 2009) This paper consists of four sections. Section I is compulsory. Students attempt one question from each of Sections II, III and IV. All sections are of equal value. Section I World War I, 1914-1919 (25 marks) There are three source based questions, which may have a number of parts. The questions relate to sources provided in the source booklet. Answers are to be written in the spaces provided in the question booklet. Section II National Studies (25 marks) There are nine extended response questions, one for each National Study. Each question offers an internal choice of two. Students attempt one. Section III Personalities in the Twentieth Century (25 marks) There is one question in two parts which students answer in relation to their chosen personality. Section IV International Studies in Peace and Conflict (25 marks) There are seven extended response questions, one for each International Study in Peace and Conflict.
