Primary winners made of the write stuff

Eight promising young writers were presented with their Gold Award certificates and prize packs at the WriteOn ceremony attended by the President of the Board of Studies and the Editor-in-Chief of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun-Herald.

The winners of the WriteOn 2010 competition received a 12-month an annual subscription to Fairfax newspapers, a fabulous book pack, tickets to one of the Riverside Theatres’ productions from their 2011 primary school program and a general admission pass for two to the Historic Houses Trust Museums.

The idea behind WriteOn was to develop an annual competition for NSW primary students to recognise the high quality of writing taking place in our schools. An anthology of entries, the Best of WriteOn 2010, will be published early next year and WriteOn 2011 will open in Term 1.

Certificates were also sent to students who achieved a Silver and Bronze award and schools can download a participation certificate from Schools Online for all students who entered the competition.

WriteOn is sponsored by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun-Herald.
