Second round of consultation on K-10 draft syllabuses

The second round of consultation on the NSW draft K-10 syllabuses for the Australian curriculum (version 2) for English, Mathematics, Science and History has begun.

The focus of consultation is on changes made to the draft syllabuses as a result of feedback received in the first round of consultation in 2011.

Teachers and interested members of the public are invited to have their say at a consultation meeting or by completing an online survey.

Register online to attend a face-to-face consultation meeting, commencing 5 March with K-10 English in Katoomba. An online survey for all learning areas is also now open. Consultation ends 31 March 2012.

The consultation feedback will be used to guide the development of the final syllabus documents. The K-10 syllabuses for English, Mathematics, Science and History will not be required to be taught before 2014.

The draft K-10 syllabuses can be previewed in interactive online format or PDF. The interactive online format is a new resource offered by the Board to facilitate easier navigation of the draft syllabuses. More features and functionality will be added throughout the year including an online programming tool.
