In October 2012 the Board approved a revision of the Stage 6 Society and Culture syllabus.

A Stage 6 Society and Culture draft syllabus has been developed which is now on the Board’s website.

Teachers and schools are invited to comment on the draft syllabus by completing the consultation survey.

It is requested that completed surveys be returned by Friday, 14 June 2013 by mail or fax to:

The consultation process will include teachers across New South Wales through surveys and consultation meetings. In addition, educational stakeholders will be consulted. Findings from the consultation will be used to determine amendments to the draft Stage 6 Society and Culture syllabus. It is planned for the final syllabus to be presented to the Board in August 2013. Implementation of the new syllabus is to commence for the Preliminary course from 2014, with the first HSC examination based on the revised syllabus in 2015.
